504 prep making ５０４調合剤作り

real busy couple of weeks since memorial day.we finished the fence in front of the house.the pasture has almost grass for them to graze but we will wait until after the party to turn them lose in it.nakagawasan helped us with the materials and labored the first day showing us how he did his fence.we owe him a great deal of thanks.thank you nakagawasan for all your help.we will return the favor and labor for him when he needs us.he also donated his manure to the workshop in shintoku and gathered it by himself.i hope he can be the first demeter certified farmer in japan.he is truly an organic lifestyle human being.
the workshop in shintoku at the kyodogakusha community was very exciting.we dug up preps 500 502 506 505 and made bc and 502.there was about 15 attendents.and takeshi hanura conducted the workshop.konomi was very instrumental in assisting.the 500 turned out excellent except for 1 horn which was not a perfect horn it was flat on one side like it was dragged on concrete or filed down somehow.lesson learned.502 looked good and 505 looked good.but 506 was not ready yet.you could still see the dandelion flowers i dont know what happened there.the bc pit had to be redug and i was busy making the 502 so i didnt get to help with it.they used the preps they have been making there.takeshi brought preps form iwamizawa.toko from windy hills farm brought dried yarrow flowers that we used for 502 and she had some left over and gave them to me and i got 1 japanese deer bladder and 1 usa deer bladder and made 502 here at home sunday the 15th of june libra a flower sign.but before that i made 504.when i woke up that morning i cut stinging nettle here on the farm from 7 am until 10 am.and still had a lot of stinging nettle to cut if i wanted, there is alot of it here.

then i dug a pit 160cm long 110cm wide and about 65cm deep.i chopped the nettles a little and stuffed them in 3 burlap bags.i use some boards from the barn to make a bottomless box 5cm short allaround the inside of the pit to stuff peat moss .i put 5cmm peatmoss in the bottom and put the bags on top of that.

i raise the box added more peatmoss and put boards on top and covered with dirt.it took me all day to do it by myself as konomi was away in fuji mnt.504 is a lot of work for so little return.it rots away to almost nothing when it is finished but is the one we recommend you use the most of.it stimilates growth in plants and the nettles make a good liquid manure.that is my next goal to make nettle manure.
sunday was also fathers day in the usa.i called my dad and he was very glad to hear from me.my mothers birthday was friday i called her too at the family reunion in west virginia on saturday.
sara came in heat thursday.
we got partime jobs now at a dairy near us.
we hope to see lots of people at our first annual summer soltice party.hope to see you there.
